A return to the origin
In 2025, I return to painting from the perspective of failure, where images are constructed and remain open. Through color, figuration, and abstraction, I revisit ancient myths and stories to see what they can still say in the present.

Carlos Milanés
Art has always been a part of my life. I studied Fine Arts and, for years, developed my professional career in fields such as graphic design and digital creation. Although I never stopped creating, for a time painting took a back seat.
In 2025 I decided to return to it.
That return meant reconnecting with my roots, but also starting from a new place. Returning to painting with everything I'd learned. With more experience and a different perspective on identity and how we relate to our environment.
Since then, I have begun to exhibit my work publicly and to develop an increasingly personal style. My painting combines figurative and abstract elements, searching for that instant when an image seems to appear and disappear simultaneously.
Painting is my way of exploring that which cannot always be explained with words.
